We use 19mm thick solid Jarrah boards for the tops with a 65mm edge trim fitted as well as steel black corner feature brackets. 

The legs are built from treated pine sleepers and beams which are finished with exterior grade paint.

Jarrah is a unique Australian hardwood renowned for its versatility. Its durability and strength make it an ideal timber for tables and bench seats, with timbers that display colours ranging from deep red to blonde. Jarrahs natural properties include a high resistance to weather, rot, termites and even marine borers, making it valuable for a range of outdoors uses. Its density also makes it fire resistant.

 

Jarrah by its natural properties can endure exterior conditions. Although the timber won’t rot it will weather and grey if not coated with an appropriate exterior paint or sealer. Depending on your expectations this may lend to the finish you’re after. If exposed directly to continual rain and sun, a higher rate of weathering will occur, and more regular maintenance and reapplication of paint or sealer will be required. Again, this weathering look may be suited to you.

 

Jarrah furniture is ideally suited for under cover veranda or alfresco settings which may include a bit of sun and rain. Slight weathering such as a few fine cracks and slight cupping may occur which is expected and part of the rustic look.

 

The required maintenance is dependent on how the timber is finished, whether painted, oiled, sealed. Please check with us what is required depending on how your purchase has been finished.
